A great Visionair has died - Steve Jobs (1955-2011) | Quickpwn

Today, Apple Co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died. He was battling pancreatic cancer, and died at age 56. We are sorry to hear of his loss, and offer our condolences to his family. RIP Steve jobs, you will be missed!

In Steve Jobs own words:

“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.” – Steve Jobs,  Commencement address at Stanford on June 14, 2005

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Apple has released the following statement:

Statement by Apple’s Board of Directors

CUPERTINO, Calif. — We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

If you go to Apple.com you’ll see a huge image of Steve Jobs image, and if you click it you’ll see the following message:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences, please email rememberingsteve@apple.com.

Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 Guide for iPhone 4.2.1, iPod touch 4.2.1, and iPad 4.2.1

Posted: 14 Dec 2010 11:46 AM PST
If you'd like to jailbreak iPhone 4.2.1, iPod touch 4.2.1, or iPad 4.2.1, you can do so by following the guide below. Currently the only tool that supports iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak right now is redsn0w (by iPhone Dev Team).
The other jailbreak tools: greenpois0n (by Chronic Dev Team), and limera1n (by Geohot) haven't been updated to support the jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 yet.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that only iPhone 3G,  and older iPod touch users jailbreak. This jailbreak is only untethered for the older iOS hardware. All of the newer devices are tethered, meaning you will need to re-jailbreak each time you reboot your iDevice. If that is fine with you, then go on and jailbreak.
  1. Download iUserbar new – click here (works on Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari)
  2. In iUserbar new, click the "Downloads" button and then click on your iOS 4.2.1 firmware to download it.
  3. In iUserbar new, click "Downloads" and click on Download redsn0w to download redsn0w.
  4. Now open redsn0w, and click the Browse button.
  5. Locate your device's IPSW file that you downloaded in step 2 and click Open.
  6. The redsn0w window will have the "IPSW successfully identified" message. Click the Next button to continue.
  7. redsn0w will ask you to "Please select which options you would like to have". Make sure the Install Cydia box has a check on there and then click Next.
  8. redsn0w will ask you to make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to your computer. Make sure you plug in your device in to your computer and then turn it off. Click Next once you have done this.
  9. redsn0w will now ask you to connect your device in DFU mode.
  1. Hold down the Power button for 3 seconds
  2. Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center button) for 10 seconds
  3. Without releasing the Home button, release the Power button BUT KEEP holding the Home button for 30 seconds
  • If you don't do this properly you will get a DFU Mode Failed message and you'll have to go back to step one.
  • Once this process is complete, your device will restart and it will have the Cydia icon!
